Q. Where are you from?
A. I’m from Milwaukee, WI. Go Bucks! 🏆🦌
Q.
When and what inspired you to start recording your music?
A. I actually recorded my first single “Far” in 2021 but I wrote it in 2019. I’ve always been musically talented, it runs in my family and if you would’ve asked me at age 12 what I wanted to be I’d say singer. What inspired “Far” was the deep depression I was in following a breakup from a narcissist. I was really speaking life into myself and it actually started as a freestyle. I didn’t know how to talk about what I was going through so I’d go on YouTube, find a beat, and speak from my heart. And that’s how I got my @Motivefromtheheart as well 🥹. It was a reminder I knew I needed at present & in the future 🙏🏽.

Q. Which instruments do you play?
A. I don’t play any instruments
Q. What was the first tune(s) you learned?
A.
Honestly, probably India Arie. I grew up listening to her because of my mom. “Talk to her,” or Jazmine Sullivan anything.
Q. What are some of your family member's musical interests and abilities?
A. My family is really musically talented. I’m named after my auntie Daizsa and she has a phenomenal voice! Her children do as well, my cousins (5) are all musically talented whether it’s rapping or singing. My cousins (2) are, also, a musical engineers. My little sister knows how to sing as well as my other cousins and my dad.
Q. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
A. I admire J. Cole for the introspection, education, and encouragement he provides while spitting the coldesttt bars 🥶 and being such a symbolic & lovable human being. I definitely admire Jhene Aiko because of how intentional is with her music, utilizing bowls and speaking life. She, also, flows very nicely as a singer/rapper. And I admire Fr33sol because he raps about things such as abundance with conviction on a beat you can really vibe too but, also, vibrate higher with. I admire Iyla because of the concepts behind her songs and messages. And lastly, I admire Lil Nas X because he always makes everything an experience, never just a song! He really know how to portray his emotions well and he’s versatile af!
Q.
Which famous musicians have you learned from?
A. * I learned from Inayah that I could get paid to sharpen my skills. Writing jingles is a creative space for a career and that’ll make it easier to make a catchy song.
* I learned from Eric Bellinger to be good at writing a chorus and have a music slogan.
* I learned from Londrelle that there’s space in music for affirmations and poetry. He did whatever he wanted for however long and I would listen. 🥰
* I learned from Russ to continue doing me and it’ll pay off. Fuck the industry!
Q. What are your fondest musical memories?
A. My fondest music memory is the YouTube days when it wasn’t super popular, way before YouTube couples were a thing. I’d listen to people singing covers and originals 🎶. People like Tori Kelly, Cameron J, Jordan Grizzle, Avery Wilson, Dondria, Karmin, and Karina Pasian. I loved listening and singing along.
Q. Were you influenced by old records & tapes? Which ones?
A. I’d say that Elle Varner - Perfectly Imperfect was such a unique drop; every song was a different vibe. It was so versatile and I appreciate that skill 🤌🏽
Q. Who are your favorite musicians? Groups?
A. My favorite singer is Jazmine Sullivan. I just love the tone and range she has! On top of the concept being on point always. My favorite artist is Lil Nas X for sure. Right now, I’m loving the duo Earthgang. My favorite rapper is J. Cole; I love the introspective humanitarian.
Q.
Do you perform in public?
A. Yes I do! Contact:

San Antonio, TX.

Q. How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
A. I try to become more present and less self conscious and anxious. I’ll vibe with whoever is vibing and/or listen and turn up to my lyrics going back to the moment the song was created. And mostly importantly, have fun.
Q.
How often and for how long do you practice?
A. Honestly, I don’t practice much. If I have a performance though, I’ll practice every day the week of.
Q. How do you balance your music with other obligations?
A.
try to be spontaneous yet realistic with my music. If I’m in a really creative space I’ll write music whenever & wherever even if I’m at work, but if I’m dealing with a heavy lead of practical things I might have to hold off due to lack of time or inspiration. Sometimes I write to create inspiration. So it’s really about a feeling more so than a schedule besides my obligations, I’ll make time for music whenever I feel the need to.
Q. Where do you expect to be in the next 2 years?
A. Within the next two years, I’d like to be recognized, at least, locally and ideally globally as an upcoming artist to watch out for. As an artist, I’d like to have an EP out and a few videos. I’d, also, love to be performing regularly and truly living as an artist. 🤟🏾😝
