Q. How did you get started in music?
A. I grew up playing the drums in church, and was just always a sing to the music my parents would play.
Q. What inspires you to create music?
A. I’ve always been a big consumer of all types of music. But 1 day i decided to try creating something of my own, and seeing where that could take me.
Q. Who are your biggest musical influences?
A. Biggie Smalls, Drake, Dom Kennedy, and then pretty much all of the Texas/southern legends you can think of. I’m also a big fan of a lot of the younger artists in the game right now.
Q. What is your creative process like when writing music?
A. When I hear a beat, it has to just give me that feeling. Idk exactly how to describe it but iykyk. Once i come up with a certain melody to compliment that beat, i find my topic and first couple of lines, then the rest of the song kind of flows naturally.
Q. How do you decide which songs to include on an album?
A. I'm a versatile artist but im still working on selecting songs that not only coincide with each other but in a certain order that feels like a journey or ride with a story
Q. How do you balance your personal life with your career as a musician?
A. I wish i could say i had the perfect answer for you. It can definitely be difficult not only working a full time job that funds your music career, but also working as your own manager, social media manager, promoter, stylist, finance manager, sales rep, etc. but hey, it’s part of the game i guess.
Q. What has been your biggest challenge as a musician?
A. Operating as a 1 man show and making certain decisions regarding my time, money, and more can be stressful at times but what’s helped me is building strong relationships with the people around me, including family as well my music friends.
Q. What do you enjoy most about performing live?
A. It’s fun to see people enjoying themselves to my sound.It also feels liberating to say my lyrics out loud to people.
Q. How do you connect with your audience during a performance?
A. My lyrics are meant to be provocative, motivating, and fun.
Q. What has been your proudest moment as a musician?
A. My birthday bash at the HUB!! Either that or my first ever performance.
Q. How do you handle creative blocks or writer's block?
A. I try not to see it as writers block. Sometimes you just gotta live your life, and then it’ll come to you.
Q. How do you approach collaborating with other artists?
A. Always down to work, but i will say tap in now cause the stock rising in 2023.
Q. What do you hope to achieve with your music?
A. I don’t hope to be the greatest ever or everyone’s favorite. I just want to make it to a certain level to where i can help scout other talent and influence their music careers. Ultimately, i want my love for music to change my family’s life and then in turn help me change other people lives.
Q. How do you stay current and relevant in the music industry?
A. I’m just me man, i listen to the music coming out and determine for myself what i fw and what i don’t. My job also gives me the opportunity to speak with kids on a regular basis and that’s dope as well. They be keeping me in the loop.
Q. How do you balance your artistic vision with the demands of the industry?
A. I’m creating what i want and just tryin my best to play the game.
Q. What advice do you have for aspiring musicians?
A.“Whole lotta faith, yeah i had to take a leap”
Q. How do you handle criticism of your music?
A. everyone’s entitled to an opinion 🤷🏾♂️ I really make it for me but it is cool when other people enjoy it too.
Q. What do you do to stay motivated and inspired as a musician?
A. the waves of life just put me through unique experiences that i can kind of just use as fuel to create music that may or may not touch on those things, regardless there’s a release of energy that’s therapeutic to me.
Q. How do you use social media to connect with your fans and promote your music?
A. It’s inevitably one of the hugest tools to share your art with people from literally all over the world, just gotta stay consistent regardless of what the number may look like at first.
