Who is Dai Made?
Dai Made is a singer and hip-hop artist based in San Antonio, originally from Milwaukee, WI. Her music comes straight from lived experience — heartbreak, growth, and self-discovery. Her debut single "Far" started as a freestyle during a period of deep depression following a toxic relationship, and became the catalyst for her entire creative journey.

Q. Where are you from?
I'm from Milwaukee, WI. Go Bucks!
Q. When and what inspired you to start recording your music?
I actually recorded my first single "Far" in 2021 but I wrote it in 2019. I've always been musically talented, it runs in my family and if you would've asked me at age 12 what I wanted to be I'd say singer. What inspired "Far" was the deep depression I was in following a breakup from a narcissist. I was really speaking life into myself and it actually started as a freestyle. I didn't know how to talk about what I was going through so I'd go on YouTube, find a beat, and speak from my heart. And that's how I got my @Motivefromtheheart as well. It was a reminder I knew I needed at present and in the future.
Q. Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?
I admire J. Cole for the introspection, education, and encouragement he provides while spitting the coldest bars and being such a symbolic and lovable human being. I definitely admire Jhene Aiko because of how intentional she is with her music, utilizing bowls and speaking life. I admire Fr33sol because he raps about things such as abundance with conviction on a beat you can really vibe to but also vibrate higher with. I admire Iyla because of the concepts behind her songs and messages. And lastly, I admire Lil Nas X because he always makes everything an experience, never just a song!
Q. What are your fondest musical memories?
My fondest music memory is the YouTube days when it wasn't super popular, way before YouTube couples were a thing. I'd listen to people singing covers and originals. People like Tori Kelly, Cameron J, Jordan Grizzle, Avery Wilson, Dondria, Karmin, and Karina Pasian. I loved listening and singing along.
Q. Who are your favorite musicians? Groups?
My favorite singer is Jazmine Sullivan. I just love the tone and range she has! My favorite artist is Lil Nas X for sure. Right now, I'm loving the duo Earthgang. My favorite rapper is J. Cole; I love the introspective humanitarian.

Q. How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
I try to become more present and less self conscious and anxious. I'll vibe with whoever is vibing and mostly importantly, have fun.
Q. Where do you expect to be in the next 2 years?
Within the next two years, I'd like to be recognized, at least locally and ideally globally as an upcoming artist to watch out for. As an artist, I'd like to have an EP out and a few videos. I'd also love to be performing regularly and truly living as an artist.
